When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious child, who prays for him (for the deceased).

Yemen is facing a "lost generation" crisis. Over two million children are currently out of school, and those who do attend often sit in overcrowded, damaged classrooms without the most basic tools to learn. Without a notebook to write in or a pen to practice with, a child’s education remains stagnant. This lack of resources leads to high dropout rates, leaving children vulnerable to child labor, early marriage for girls, and recruitment into the conflict. The "Educational Poverty" in Yemen is trapping children in a cycle of illiteracy that will haunt the nation for decades.

Hope Group’s School Bag Initiative is a direct intervention to keep the doors of learning open. We provide the physical tools necessary for a child to succeed and the psychological motivation for them to stay in school.
Each child receives a high-quality, durable backpack filled with a full year's worth of essential supplies: notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, a geometry set, and colors.
